The 800GBASE-SR8 OSFP optical transceiver module is designed for 800GBASE Ethernet and 800Gb/s 2xNDR InfiniBand systems with transmission distance up to 100m over OM4 multimode fiber (MMF), using an 850nm wavelength with an MTP/MPO-16 connector. This transceiver is compliant with IEEE P802.3ck and OSFP MSA standards. Built-in digital diagnostics monitoring (DDM) allows access to real-time operating parameters. With these features, this easy-to-install, hot-swappable transceiver is suitable for various applications, including Ethernet, InfiniBand, data centers, high-performance computing networks, and enterprise core and distribution layers.
Note: "Finned-top" transceivers are now called "Integrated HeatSink" (IHS) as the cooling fins are integrated into the OSFP connector metal top. Commonly used in air-cooled switches. "Flat-top" transceivers are now called "Riding Heat Sink" (RHS) as the cooling fins ride on top of the network card or systems internal cages. This is used for both air-cooled and liquid-cooled applications for DGX, ConnectX-7, and BlueField-3 DPUS.
