The Arista Networks OSFP-400G-DR4 Compatible OSFP optical transceiver module is designed for 400GBASE Ethernet throughput up to 500m link lengths over OS2 singlemode fiber (SMF) using a wavelength of 1310nm via MTP/MPO-12 APC connectors. This transceiver is compliant with CMIS 5.2, IEEE 802.3bs and OSFP MSA standards. The built-in digital diagnostics monitoring (DDM) allows access to real-time operating parameters.
The single-port OSFP finned-top transceiver is designed for Ethernet air-cooled switches, delivering low latency, low power consumption, and high reliability. It supports uplink connections in spine-leaf architectures, such as from an 800G switch to a 400G switch, as well as downlink connectivity from 400G switches to 100G switches(via 4x100G-DR breakout). It is the ideal solution for HPC computing, AI, and cloud data centers.
Note:"Finned-top" transceivers are now called "Integrated HeatSink" (IHS) as the cooling fins are integrated into the OSFP connector metal top. Commonly used in air-cooled switches. "Flat-top" transceivers are now called "Riding Heat Sink" (RHS) as the cooling fins ride on top of the network card or systems internal cages. This is used for both air-cooled and liquid-cooled applications for DGX, ConnectX-7 and BlueField-3 DPUS.
