The 800G OSFP Direct Attach Cable operates over passive copper, which requires no additional power to ensure quality connectivity. This breakout cable is compliant with OSFP MSA (Multi-Source Agreement) and IEEE 802.3ck standards. It provides a high-speed connection of an 800G OSFP port on one end and four 200G OSFP ports on the other end. Each end contains EEPROM coding that offers product identification and characteristics to the host system. It is power-efficient and suitable for cost-effective close-range interconnections within the equipment room of telecom operators or data centers, etc.
Note: "Finned top" transceivers are now called "Integrated Heat Sink" (IHS) as the cooling fins are integrated into the OSFP connector metal top. Commonly used in air-cooled switches.
"Flat top" transceivers are now called "Riding Heat Sink" (RHS) as the cooling fins ride on top of the network card or system's internal cages. This is used for both air-cooled and liquid-cooled applications for DGX, ConnectX-7, and BlueField-3 DPUS.
