NVIDIA/Mellanox MCP7Y00-N002 Compatible 800G OSFP IHS/Finned Top to 2x 400G OSFP RHS/Flat Top InfiniBand NDR DAC Breakout Cable (2-meter, Passive, OSFP to 2x OSFP, 26AWG)

The NVIDIA/Mellanox MCP7Y00-N002 Compatible Cable is an 800Gb/s twin-port OSFP to 2x 400Gb/s twin-port OSFP passive Direct Attached Copper dual breakout cable for 400Gb/s End-to-End Infiniband solutions. It is compliant with OSFP MSA (Multi-Source Agreement) and IEEE 802.3ck standards. Each end includes an EEPROM which provides product identification and characteristics to the host system.
The 8-channel twin-port OSFP end uses a IHS/finned top form-factor for use in Quantum-2 switch cages, while the two 400G ends support 4-channels of 100G-PAM4 (400G) and use a RHS/flat top OSFP for use in ConnectX-7 adapters using riding heat sinks on the connector cage. The main use of the cable is linking an 800G switch to OSFP-based 400G network adapter cards.
Featured with low latency, low power consumption and cost-effective performance, this cable enables 800G to dual 400G breakout connections for server-to-TOR links in AI/ML training clusters, hyperscale cloud data centers, and high-performance computing environments.


Note: "Finned top" transceivers are now called "Integrated Heat Sink" (IHS) as the cooling fins are integrated into the OSFP connector metal top. Commonly used in air-cooled switches.
"Flat top" transceivers are now called "Riding Heat Sink" (RHS) as the cooling fins ride on top of the network card or system's internal cages. This is used for both air-cooled and liquid-cooled applications for DGX, ConnectX-7, and BlueField-3 DPUS.
