NVIDIA/Mellanox MMS4X00-NS400 Compatible OSFP 400G DR4L PAM4 InfiniBand NDR Optical Transceiver (SMF, 1310nm, 100m, MPO-12/APC, DOM, RHS/Flat Top)

The NVIDIA/Mellanox InfiniBand MMA4Z00-NS400 Compatible OSFP Optical Transceiver is an InfiniBand 400Gbps Single-port OSFP with a Flat-top (OSFP-RHS) form factor, DR4L multimode parallel transceiver using a single, 4-channel MPO-12/APC optical connector. The Reach 4-channel (DR4L) design uses 100G-PAM4 modulation and has a maximum fiber reach of 100-meters using OS2 single mode fibers. It is qualified for use in InfiniBand end-to-end systems.
It supports flexible configurations. Deployed with ConnectX-7 OSFP adapters and twin-port transceivers in 2x400G InfiniBand switches. When paired with a 1:2 splitter fiber cable, only two channels are activated on the split end, enabling automatic downshift to 200G operation while reducing power consumption. It is an ideal solution for supercomputing, delivering efficient high-performance interconnectivity with seamless integration into computing and storage infrastructures.
Note:"Finned-top" transceivers are now called "Integrated HeatSink" (IHS) as the cooling fins are integrated into the OSFP connector metal top. Commonly used in air-cooled switches. "Flat-top" transceivers are now called "Riding Heat Sink" (RHS) as the cooling fins ride on top of the network card or systems internal cages. This is used for both air-cooled and liquid-cooled applications for DGX, ConnectX-7 and BlueField-3 DPUS.
